Our 5th graders at BuffSci had a chance to watch the movie Wonder today. This movie is based on the NY Times bestseller and tells an incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of AugustPullman, a boy with facial deformities who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

The students were able to observe how even the tiniest act of kindness can truly influence others. We engaged in heartfelt discussions and completed multiple activities that provided them with an opportunity to express kind thoughts to one another.

The photo below demonstrates the students and teachers working together and signing each other’s backs explaining why they are a wonder.

Please feel free to ask your child what they learned today and how this experience has helped them in recognizing how they can use kindness and respect to make others feel good about themselves.

Thank you to Ms. Neefe for organizing this demonstration!
